December 2020 – we made it!
Seeing the end of this year is a blessing. There’s something about December, the holidays, giving and gifting, spending time with loved ones, the lights, the events, the good times, the memories, the love — there’s just something about the end of the year that hits different. A lot can happen in 12 months, and 2020 has been a year of trials, loss, death, gain, uncertainty, creativity, faith, fear – honestly a little bit of everything.
Between the reigns of Covid-19, this year’s election, and continued racial injustice – I’d say we’re honestly just trying to survive. 2021 might not provide us with all the answers we’ve been looking for, but it will bring hope. That’s all that I want – hope. I have to know there’s more to life than the suffering we’ve endured. I answer to God and believe though we might not see it, he always does. Better days are coming.
Even though it’s been a hell of a year, there is still SO much to celebrate. This year, despite the odds, I’ve launched my second book SHADES, began the LLC process on the Major Ki, got promoted and received a raise at kate spade new york, I was able to travel out of the country and back with no sickness by the grace of God, my family, friends and loved ones are alive and well, and I’m in such a loving relationship that just the thought of him gives me butterflies.
Real love. Real grace. I wanted to take a moment to end the year with love, laughter and celebration. Brandon’s birthday was December 3rd and he had no idea I had a surprise Black tie themed dinner party in store for him. All of his friends, his favorite foods, music and vibes (quarantine style lol). I just wanted him to know despite all the things this year tossed at us, we still have love.
Thank you to my tribe for all your help in putting this together! All photos provided by Davaughn Cunningham.
